The fourth Canton Nucleic Acids Forum (CNAF) was successfully held in Science City, Guangzhou on November 09-10, 2016. This conference was attended by 18 brilliant international scientists from all over the world and over 300 participants from the universities, research institutes and companies. The key subjects for the conference included 1) latest advances in non-coding RNA research, 2) transforming nucleic acids technologies, 3) nucleic acids based therapeutics and 4) nucleic acids based diagnostics and biomarkers. The Keynote addresses were given by Dr. Ada Yonath (Professor at Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel and 2009 Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry), Dr. Craig Mello (UMMS Professor and 2006 Nobel Prize Winner in Physiology or Medicine), Dr. Stanley Crooke (Founder, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Ionis Pharmaceuticals, USA) and Dr. Howard Chang, (Professor at Stanford University, USA).

During the conference, the speakers shared their research results and experience in the field of nucleic acids and interacted closely with the participants. At the end of the conference, Dr. Craig Mello made the closing address and spoke highly of the meeting content and organization.
